فقد حرص جلالته على العمل لرفع مستوى معيشة المواطنين ، من خلال المبادرات التي اطلقها وعلى توفير الحاجات الاساسية من تعليم ورعاية صحية ، كما اكد على ضرورة توزيع المكاسب الوطنية على كل بقاع الوطن ، فقد اطلقت المناطق التنموية في اربد والمفرق ومعان ، كما شملت مبادرة "سكن كريم لعيش كريم" كل محافظات المملكة ، وشهد الاردن جهودا عملاقة لمكافحة الفقر والبطالة. واولى الملك الزراعة اهتماما خاصا ، فاعلن هذا العام عاما وطنيا للزراعة ، باعتبارها احد اهم الوسائل لتحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي والامن الغذائي.
وحقق الاردن اداء اقتصاديا طيبا رغم الصعوبات الهائلة التي عصفت بالمنطقة وخفضت المديونية بشكل كبير وتم تسجيل مؤشرات اقتصادية لافتة في مختلف المجالات. وحرص الملك على اطلاق طاقات الشباب باعتبارهم امل المستقبل للوطن ، واصبح "فرسان التغيير" شركاء حقيقيين في كل الجهود الوطنية. كما حققت المرأة الاردنية انجازات ملموسة على صعيد المشاركة السياسية ، ودخلت في كل قطاعات النهضة الوطنية ، باعتبارها عنصرا اساسا وفاعلا في مسيرتنا نحو الغد الواعد.
وعلى الصعيد القومي ، فقد لعب الاردن دورا فاعلا للتصدي لكل التحديات القومية ، وواصل بلدنا بقيادة مليكه القيام بدوره في خدمة المصالح العليا للامة ، بعيدا عن سياسات الاستقطاب والمحاور ، فهذا البلد هو مهد ثورة العرب الكبرى وهو معقد آمال الامة مهما ادلهمت الخطوب. كما احتلت القضية الفلسطينية موقعا مركزيا في اهتمامات الملك ، وحرص جلالته على استثمار كل علاقاته الدولية ولقاءاته بزعماء العالم ، للتذكير بضرورة تحقيق السلام العادل والشامل في المنطقة وتمكين الشعب الفلسطيني من استعادة حقوقه وبناء دولته المستقلة ، على ترابه الوطني وعاصمتها القدس الشريف.
وبمعنى اخر ، فان عيد ميلاد القائد الذي نحتفل به اليوم ، هو عيد للعمل والعطاء والانجاز واستذكار المحطات المضيئة في حياة قائدنا ، الحافلة بالخير العابقة بالانجاز.
